10. Listen to the first part of the dialogue again. The underlined expressions have a rising intonation. This sounds polite. Salesgirl: Morning. Can I help you? Helen: No, thanks. I’m just looking. 11. Speaking In pairs, practise the dialogue in Exercise 7 with the objects in the photos. Practise getting the intonation right. Take turns to be the customer.

12. Make up a new dialogue about buying a leather jacket ( ￡ 90). Example: Salesgirl: Is there anything I can do for you? Customer: I’d like a leather jacket. Salesgirl: What kind would you like?
