2. What is Withdrawal?  Involves whole church – 1 Cor. 5:4  “Deliver unto Satan” – 1 Cor. 5:5  “Not to company with” – 1Cor. 5:9  Not even to eat with – 1 Cor. 5:11  Note (mark) and Avoid – 2 Thess. 3:14; Rom. 16:17

3. What is Withdrawal?  “It is not primarily that of cutting a man off, or denouncing him, or excommunicating him; it is that of withdrawing from him. We cease to have fellowship with him. We do not regard him any longer as a Christian brother. We separate from him.” (Albert Barnes)  “Punishment” – 2 Cor. 2:6

4. Why Withdraw?  Respect Christ’s Authority – 2 Th. 3:6  Save the person – 1 Cor. 5:5  Maintain purity of church – 1 Cor. 5:6  That Others May Fear – Acts 5:11; 1 Tim. 5:20

5. From Whom Do We Withdraw?  Immoral – 1 Corinthians 5:11  False teachers – Romans 16:17  Heretic – Titus 3:10  Walks Disorderly – 2 Thess. 3:6  Those who won’t withdraw – 2 Thess. 3:14,15

6. Objections Some Make  “Drives them away”  “You’re judging”  John 8:7  Won’t do any good  “It’s family” or “We’re so close”  They will go to another church

7. What Must I Do To Be Saved?  Hear the gospel (Romans 10:17)  Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37)  Repent of your sins (Acts 17:30)  Confess your faith (Matthew 10:32)  Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38)  Faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)
