2. JPR 7-1A A Checking the air supply is the first step before using SCBA.

3. JPR 7-1B B Always compare the cylinder and regulator gauges. They must be within 10 percent of each other.

4. JPR 7-1C C Grasp the back plate with both hands. Harness straps should be outside of your hands.

5. JPR 7-1D D Lift the back plate/cylinder overhead, using your elbows to extend through the loops formed by the shoulder straps.

6. JPR 7-1E E Balance the unit on your back by leaning forward, and tighten the shoulder straps by pulling down and out.
