2 What is it? 4 How is NCEA assessed? 6 What is a standard? A standard is a description of what a student can do “ ” “Investigate relationships between tables, equations and graphs” “ ” “Explain significant connection(s) across texts, using supporting evidence” “ ” “Demonstrate knowledge of practices and strategies to address food handling issues”

7 How many credits are available? 12 Keeping Track of Results Each students is given a personal National Student Number (NSN) They can then log on to the NZQA website and view their results Internal assessment results are submitted by the school in the month following the completion of the assessment

13 Record of Achievement Results should be checked regularly to make sure they have been entered correctly

28 Key points to remember: Late assessments will be given a Not Achieved grade and we won’t accept reasons like ‘It was my first assessment’ or ‘My computer broke down’. We endeavour to be fair and consistent in all our rulings. If a student misses an assessment through illness she must get a medical certificate ON THE DAY OF THE ASSESSMENT to be eligible for a further assessment opportunity IF ONE IS AVAILABLE.
