3 Windows Printing Process 1. A user prints from an application - print job 2. The job is sent to the GDI 3. The job is sent to the local printer driver 4. The job is sent to the local spooler. If it's for the local print device, it'll save it to the local hard drive's spool file, and the job will be printed on the local print device through the print monitor 5. If the local spooler determines that the job is for a network print device, it'll send the job to the print server's spooler, the print server's spooler will save it to the print server's hard drive spool file, and then will direct it to the network print device through the print monitor.
