2 Assignment Complete an Acrostic poem for the period of Reconstruction
Must explain the Reconstruction period Include important people, places, ideas, actions, reasons, themes (limiting of African American rights, Radical Republican) A MINIMUM of 10 words (pull from your notes)

5 Rubric Summative Grade 60% Content Accuracy
20% Illustrations (minimum of 5 complete illustrations 20% Color and Detail

6 First Step Take out your notes on Reconstruction
Decide what word or phrase will be the skeleton of the Poem

7 Second Step Go through Reconstruction notes and make a list of words or phrases you would like to use Begin piecing these phrases together in the poem skeleton

8 Third Step Once the poem structure is complete make sure that each phrase provides enough information Decide which 5 phrases you will make into an illustration Begin giving a brief sketch

9 Fourth Step Exchange poems with someone next to you and check to make sure their poem meets the rubric Turn in rough draft
