There are five main different types of empowerment: economic, political, societal, cultural and national empowerment.
Cultural Empowerment
Things to do with: language, food, clothing, religion, customs and history
Political empowerment
Things to do with: government, voting and politics
National Empowerment
Things to do with: decision making
Societal Empowerment
Things to do with: the community, other people, protesting or complaining when one section of society is treated unfairly
Economic Empowerment
Things to do with: jobs, money, needs and wants
