The Captain of the ship in the district will be the Deputy Commissioner (Also serve as Chairman DDMA) Divisional Commissioner will the overall In-charge of the affairs in Division and all DC shall to accountable to him and work under his guidance (Divisional Commissioners role not defined yet in the National Disaster Management Act, 2010). The Commissioners shall report all the issues relating to disaster management to the PDMA. The PDMA shall Supervise all disaster related operations in the Province and will be the Authority to issue any press note for the media.

FLOODS 2007 DAMAGES WORST IN THE HISTORY OF BALOCHISTAN 24 districts were badly affected. 205 Casualties 1.7 million Population affected/displaced 401,046 Hectares of Cultivated area destroyed More than 480,207 Animals affected. 148,322 Houses damaged 300 Educational Institutes damaged 184 Health Facilities 6654 km Roads damaged

9. Flood of 2010 in terms of devastation was the highest recorded in the history of the country 14 Districts affected 52 Casualties. More than 0.700 Million Population affected Over 47,000 houses damaged 710,000 acres of crops area washed away FLOODS 2010 DAMAGES

13. 1 Done consultative meetings with District Administration, Government Line Departments, and Humanitarian Agencies. 2 Consultative workshop organized at PDMA regarding preparation of Monsoon Contingency Planning 3 Convened meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary with all Secretaries & Divisional Commissioners for endorsement of MCP. 4 Chief Secretary advised all Government line Departments to enlist volunteer officers to be deployed in case of emergency 5 Locations for IDPs Camps have been identified in all vulnerable districts of Balochistan. 6 Disaster Response teams (Volunteer Force) at each district are formed by district administrations. 7 Search & Rescue training for 3 vulnerable districts going to be held in Serena next week and all will be provided with Search & Rescue Kits.

14. Requisitioning of Armed Forces If in the opinion of Divisional and District Administration it is essential to request the services of Armed Forces then they will send a formal request to PDMA who shall requisition Armed Forces including provision of troops, deployment of helicopters/ Boats for search and rescue operation. Suspension of Essential Services Pakistan Railways, National Highways Authorities, Sui Southern Gas Company, QESCO and Pakistan Telecommunication Limited shall liaison with PDMA in case of any suspension or disruption of services
