7 2014 QUALIFICATION & MAINTAINING QUALIFCATION To participate in Rotary Foundation global grants and district grants: 1)The club must agree to implement the financial and stewardship requirements in this memorandum of understanding (MOU) provided by The Rotary Foundation (TRF) 2) Send at least one club member to the district’s grant management seminar each year.

9 2014 Q: Why must a club be qualified to apply for Rotary Foundation grants? A: Qualification is the process by which clubs ensure that they have the necessary financial and stewardship controls in place to manage grant funds. Any Club that wishes to be the primary sponsor of a global grant must be qualified. QUALIFICATION & MAINTAINING QUALIFCATION

10 2014 Q: How does a club becomes qualified? A: In order to be qualified, a club must sign the club memorandum of understanding (MOU) and send at least one member to a grant management seminar organized by the district. Clubs must complete these steps each year to maintain qualified status. QUALIFICATION & MAINTAINING QUALIFCATION

15 2014 Q: Who signs the club MOU? A: The club MOU for each Rotary year is signed by the club’s president and president-elect for that Rotary year. 34 2014 QUALIFICATION & MAINTAINING QUALIFCATION Key points Clubs must qualify to receive Rotary Foundation global grant funds. The process ensures that clubs are aware of all Rotary requirements before receiving grant funds. By attending this training, you complete the first step towards qualification. One club member must attend this seminar annually and then share the information with fellow club members. The second step is to have the club president and president- elect sign and submit the club memorandum of understanding (MOU).

35 2014 QUALIFICATION & MAINTAINING QUALIFCATION Key points The club is responsible for the use of funds for club- sponsored grants, regardless of who controls the fund. Qualification may be suspended or revoked for misuse or mismanagement of grant funds.
