2. What is it?  Biological Evidence includes blood, saliva, hair, clothing fibres, bone and skin tissue.  These are collected from a victim and are used to identify and characterise genetic factors.  These samples will not count as Biological Evidence if someone is being tested for drugs, poisoning or alcohol.

3.  When collecting this evidence, it can be either swabbed with wet cotton wool or even using sticky tape.  Once it is collected, the evidence will then be identified to assist with the investigation.

4. What information can it give a scientist?  Biological Evidence can help identify potential suspects or victims to a crime scene.  It may also help link victims to suspects

5. Give an example for one type of insect and how it can identify how long the victim has been dead  Insects may help to identify how long people have been dead  There are many different bugs that may show up on a dead body in different stages.  For example, a Necrophagous bug would show up almost immediately after death. These bugs help with breaking down and decomposing dead bodies.

6.  Blow flies will begin to a body within a few minutes of death  Predatory and parasitic insects feed on maggot and beetle larvae inside the body  As the body dries, hide beetles arrive, along with moths to clean up whatever remains.  An entomologist can identify how long the body has been decomposing by what types of bugs are present.  Insects are all tools that aid and entomologist in Time of Death (T.O.D.).
