Internal/External Pathways External branch begins at little finger Up the posterior aspect of the arm At shoulder blade a branch goes internal At the clavicle it enters the heart and goes down to the small intestine Meridian continues up to inner and outer canthus of the eyes

4 Small Intestine 1 Shao Ze Lesser Marsh
Location: 0.1 cun posterior to the corner of the nail on the ulnar side of the little finger. Functions: ¤ Breast disorders of any etiology, insufficient lactation, mastitis, breast abscess, cysts. ¤ Jing Well Point, clear heat from the opposite end of the channel, for eye redness, earache, tinnitus, sore throat, stiff tongue.

5 Small Intestine 2 Qian Gu Front Valley
Location: When a loose fist is made, at the ulnar end of the crease, distal to the 5th metacarpophalangeal joint at the junction of the red & white skin. Functions: ¤ Local Point ¤ Ying Spring Point

6 Small Intestine 3 Hou Xi Back Ravine
Location: When a loose fist is made, at the ulnar end of the distal palmar crease proximal to the 5th metacarpal phalangeal joint at the junction of the red & white skin. Functions: ¤ Master Point of the GV, effects entire pathway. ¤ Pain in the scapula, arm a/or hand combine with local points. ¤ Stiff neck, cervical strain/sprain, pain of the back or neck. ¤ Occipital headaches, combine with local points. ¤ Night sweats, combine with HT 6. ¤ Clears heat and excess from the ears and eyes, eye redness, inflammation, visual dizziness, earache, tinnitus. ¤ Calms the spirit ¤ Shu Stream Point ¤ Tonification Point

7 Small Intestine 4 Wan Gu Wrist Bone
Location: On the ulnar side of the palm in a depression between the base of the 5th metacarpal joint and the hamate bone. Functions: ¤ Local Point ¤ Yuan Source Point

8 Small Intestine 5 Yang Gu Yang Valley
Location: On the ulnar end of the transverse wrist crease in a depression between the styloid process of the ulna and the triquetral bone. Function: ¤ Local Point

9 Small Intestine 6 Yang Lao Nursing the Aged
Location: Dorsal to the head of the ulna in the body cleft on the radial side of the styloid process, found with the palm facing the chest. Functions: ¤ Xi Cleft Point ¤ Acute and severe pain in the neck, shoulder a/or arms. ¤ Useful point for treating elderly patients, deafness, tinnitus, failing vision, upper body/limb stiffness. ¤ Overwork a/or overstrain, fatigue in the extremities.

Location: 5 cun proximal to the dorsal crease of the wrist on the SI 5 to SI 8 line. Functions: ¤ Luo Connecting Point ¤ Local Point

11 Small Intestine 8 Shao Hai Small Sea
Location: Between the olecranon process of the ulna and the medial epicondyle of the humerus, found with the elbow flexed. Functions: ¤ He Sea Point ¤ Elbow problems, swelling, trembling, pain, numbness, weakness - channel issues with excess wind a/or heat. ¤ Submandibular region swelling or pain, gums, cheek, neck, scapula, axilla.

12 Small Intestine 9 Jian Zhen True Shoulder
Location: 1 cun above the posterior end of the axillary fold, posterior and inferior to the shoulder joint, found with the arm adducted. Function: ¤ Local Point

13 Small Intestine 10 Nao Shu Upper Arm Shu Point
Location: With the arm abducted, directly above SI 9 in a depression inferior to the scapular spine. Functions: ¤ Intersection Point of the SI, Yang Wei & Yang Qiao Meridians ¤ Local Point

14 Small Intestine 11 Tian Zong Celestial Gathering
Location: On the scapula in a depression at the center of the infrascapular fossa, found at the junction of the upper and middle third between the lower scapular spine and the inferior angle of the scapula. Functions: ¤ Breast problems, mastitis, insufficient lactation, breast pain. ¤ Emotional issues, anxiety that presents with asthma, expands and relaxes the chest.

15 Small Intestine 12 Bing Feng Grasping the Wind
Location: Directly above SI 11 in the center of the suprascapular fossa, found in a depression when the arm is lifted. Functions: ¤ Intersection Point of the SI, LI, TH & GB Meridians ¤ Local Point

16 Small Intestine 13 Qu Yuan Crooked Wall
Location: At the medial extremity of the suprascapular fossa midway between SI 10 and the spinous process of T2. Functions: ¤ Local Point

17 Small Intestine 14 Jian Wai Shu Outer Shoulder Shu Point
Location: 3 cun lateral to the spinous process of T1 (GV 13). Function: ¤ Local Point

18 Small Intestine 15 Jian Zhong Shu Central Shoulder Shu Point
Location: 2 cun lateral to the spinous process of C7 (GV 14). Function: ¤ Local Point

19 Small Intestine 16 Tian Chuang Celestial Window
Location: On the lateral side of the neck, posterior to the SCM and LI 18, level with the Adam's apple. Functions: ¤ Window of the Sky Point -- Both SI 16 & SI 17 are Window of the Sky Points and are useful for throat distention, swelling, goiters, lumps in neck a/or throat.

20 Small Intestine 17 Tian Rong Celestial Countenance
Location: Posterior to the angle of the mandible in a depression on the anterior border of the SCM. Functions: ¤ Window of the Sky Point -- Both SI 16 & SI 17 are Window of the Sky Points and are useful for throat distention, swelling, goiters, lumps in neck a/or throat.

21 Small Intestine 18 Quan Liao Cheek Bone Hole
Location: Directly below the outer canthus of the eye in a depression on the lower border of the zygoma. Precautions: No Moxa. Functions: ¤ Intersection Point of the SI & TH Meridians ¤ Local point for facial disorders, Bell's palsy, trigeminal neuralgia, spasm, twitching. ¤ Upper jaw toothache.

22 Small Intestine 19 Ting Gong Auditory Palace
Location: Anterior to the tragus and posterior to the condyloid process of the mandible, in a depression formed when the mouth is opened. Functions: ¤ Intersection Point of the SI, TH & GB Meridians ¤ Ear problems of any etiology, inflammation, tinnitus, hearing loss.
