With a partner or on your own follow the PPT on Netschool and add to your notes about chapter 6 in your journal. Then continue with Chapter 7 section 1 2. Notes are due tomorrow! 3. Homework: While you read what impact did the following have on the outcome of the war? Marquis de Lafayette, Baron Von Steuben John Paul Jones, and George Rogers Clark DLG: Analyze British strategies and the cause and effect of the Battle of Saratoga Closing: Compare an incident in your life where their was a turning point similar to Saratoga that changed the outcome of the event. HW: (1) Read Chapter 7 sec 2 (2) Weekly Objective Quiz – Friday (3) Six Weeks Test – Nov 14( review due Nov 13- grade

In your journal under today’s date do TSCR pages 103-104 Activity: 1.Discuss Chapter 7 sec 2,3 following ppt and activities DLG: To identify how the Europeans helped the Americans and the sacrifices that were made to be independent. Closing: How would the outcome of the revolutionary war be different be different if the Americans had to fight alone. HW: (1) Chapter 7 sec 4 Guided reading (2) weekly Objective Quiz – Friday (3) Six Weeks Test – Nov 14( Review due on Nov 13)

Activities: Using the graphic organizer to recognize the effects of the revolutionary War on the new country DLG: Identify the legacies of the Revolutionary War Closing: How do you think the new government will address the issues that come up after the war? DLG: Identify and Summarize the key concepts of the Articles of Confederation Closing: What changes could be made to the Articles of Confederation to balance the power of state and national government? HW: (1) Chap 8, Sec 2 Reading guide (2) Weekly Objective Quiz tomorrow (3) Six Weeks Test – Nov 14( review Guide due on the 13 th ) TODAY’s Activity 1.Discuss Articles of Confederation- political cartoon and chart 2.Using your notes answer the following questions: How did the Land Ordinance’s state that that the western lands should be divided? Why was the Northwest Ordinance important to the growth of the Unites States? How did Shay's rebellion point out the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation?

5 Warm-Up 6 minutes: Answer the following questions either in Netschool (Go to my Netschool Page, click on Chap 8 Sec 1 Journal) or write your answer at the bottom of your paper.

Y – Yorktown – Britain surrendered to the US. Create a mnemonic device to remember the order of the battles listed above
