2 Pod Motor Diode Lotus Plus 2 Electric Motor Light Pod Wiring Dec 2009 with Stu’s specific loom modifications Rotary Switch Rotary switch shown in “Pod Down” position. Diodes, rotary switch, & motor are contained within motor housing from donor car. Blue to Orange / Blue DOWN SIGNAL TO ROTARY SWITCH From headlight Micro-switch “S1 – NC” Unused terminal in stock set-up Wiper contacts rotary switch disc in up position CONTROL SIGNAL TO RELAY Wiper always in contact with rotary switch disc POD MAIN POWER Hot at all times, fused Purple Motor Stop Ground Black Relay Control Ground Black MAIN MOTOR POWER Yellow to Orange / Yellow UP SIGNAL TO ROTARY SWITCH From headlight Micro-switch “S1 – NO” Blue to column switch in stock set-up Wiper contacts rotary switch disc in down position Green to Orange / Red White / Red to Orange / Green RB20BC relay from Vehicle Wiring Products (or equivalent) Motor Main Ground White / Black to Black Based on Toyota Celica pod motor. and 1971 Lotus Plus 2 Federal. Specific wire colours may vary with different cars. Single motor only shown. Pods are mechanically connected in Federal Plus 2. Double up circuit if two motors required. Motor & rotary switch moves thru 180 degrees only for each up or down pod movement. 15 amp fuse for motor supply (Purple, hot at all times, fused). Motor current only goes thru R20BC relay terminals 30 & 87. Normally closed (NC) relay terminal 87a grounds out motor supply. This causes motor rotation to stop immediately. Motor rotation will continue indefinitely without this ground connection.
