6 Solving i equations Remember to use + when taking square root Solve for x in each of the following X 2 = -20 7x 2 = - 56 3x 2 – 6 = 21

7 Other i problems 5 + 3i = m + ni Therefore 5 = m; 3 = n m + (3 + n)i = 5 + 8 i (3 + m) + 8i = 10 + bi m = 5; 3 + n = 8 so n=5 3+m =10; 8=b m = 7
