Elisa Shortridge Dillon Gardner

 Prometheus did not admire Zeus.  He constantly searched for knowledge.  His brother created many animals and creatures  He wanted to create something in his own image  He created humankind

 Prometheus wanted humans to stop hiding in caves.  He asked Zeus to give them fire, but he refused.  He stole fire and gave it to the humans.  The humans were afraid of fire when they saw it.

 Prometheus taught the humans to use fire and they were amazed.  The humans went out of the caves, built structures, cooked, created torches, made weapons, and waged war among themselves.  Zeus saw this, and was surprised, then angry.

 Zeus wanted revenge  He decided to deal with Prometheus and let the humans destroy themselves.  He chained Prometheus to a mountain and sent eagles to eat his liver.  Each day the eagles pecked out his liver and each night his liver grew back  He suffered for many centuries until a hero named Heracles rescued him.
