4 “The Money” 2008: Funding from DoH to support personal development of SAS Doctors & Dentists Recurrent since But now not ringfenced Separate from study leave/ contract funding Not intended to fund what a Trust should fund anyway

6 What happens? Associate Postgraduate Deans administer fund in LETB Funding stream then varies – Delegation to Trusts – Retained centrally – Mixture

7 In EoE £1.1 million 30 Trusts SAS Tutor in each Approx 80-90% of funds delegated to Trusts to be used locally 6 monthly financial returns “Use it or lose it”

8 Local Use Courses – individual or group Backfill for placements Appraisal support SAS Days “Benefit the many” SAS Tutor – SPAs (0.25-1.00) Administration (5-10%)
