4 NOTES: Prepositions  A preposition is a part of speech that shows a relationship between two things. Location (on, under, in) Timing (before, after, during) Direction (from, toward, to)

5 Prepositional Phrases  Adjective Prepositional Phrase: Modifies a noun or a pronoun  Robots perform several jobs in the automobile industry.  The sprayer on an assembly line is an industrial robot.  Adverb Prepositional Phrase: Modifies a verb, adjective, or an adverb  Industrial robots operate from fixed positions  In factories, robots work quickly and efficiently.
