Annual performance reviews are a key component of employee development.  The performance review is intended to be a fair and balanced assessment of an employee’s performance. Employee sets goals and evaluates him- or her- self on these goals, as well as basic job performance. This is then discussed with employee’s supervisor.

For each category below, rate your performance in this course, this semester using the E, M, D scale: Dependability & Cooperation (punctual, reliable, and works well with other students and teacher) Quality of Work (accuracy, thoroughness, and eagerness to improve) Work Performance (ability to do a majority of work above average; works well under pressure) Professionalism (demonstrates self-control; makes sound decisions) Attitude Towards Work (courteous, interested; willing to work at difficult tasks; takes and follows directions cheerfully) Motivation/Initiative (motivated to complete work on time and properly; takes initiative to start new tasks, offer ideas, and finish work creatively)

7 Performance Evaluation, Part 2
Set your three SMART goals in the performance areas on the previous slide. The “job” you are being evaluated on is successful completion of the second half of the semester. Think of it as a project you must complete as part of your job as a student. You will need to provide specific evidence of your progress toward your goals in your final evaluation.
