2 Leading, Inspiring, Innovating El Dorado High School is committed to engaging and empowering all students to become lifelong learners and achieve within a globally competitive society. Where tomorrow… begins today! With this in mind, technology is welcome in the class as long as it is being used with your teacher’s permission and it is being used for instructional purposes only. This includes headphones, ear buds, phones, tablets etc… Students can use these items at their discretion before the 8:35 bell, during lunch and anytime after the end of the school day. 3 1.Satanic messages, obscenities or alcohol/tobacco/drug advertisement on clothing or accessories 2.Hats (both males and females), caps, beanies, hairnets, doo rags, scarves, handkerchiefs, hoodies covering the head or sunglasses worn inside the building. (Items will be available for pickup by parent at the end of the 9 weeks.) The following Dress/Attire IS NOT ALLOWED:

4 The following Dress/Attire IS NOT Allowed 1.Spandex, fishnet shirts, spaghetti straps, off the shoulder, low cut, and tube tops or stretch clothing Tank top straps must be the width of your I.D. 2. Bare midriffs (i.e. exposed tummy) are not allowed. Shirts should be long enough to where the midriff area is never exposed. 3. Men’s shirts must have sleeves 4. See through or translucent clothing must have a shirt underneath (underwear and/or any undergarments) cannot be showing at any time.

5 The following Dress/Attire IS NOT ALLOWED: 1.Excessively baggy clothing (pants and shorts must be worn at the waist). 2. Torn or ripped apparel ARE allowed as long as skin is not exposed through the tear. 3. All coveralls/overalls must be worn properly (straps must be snapped on and worn over the shoulders).

6 Other Reminders : 1.Dresses, skirts, and shorts must be mid-thigh or longer. 2.Long key chains, chains on pants, and wallet chains of any length are not allowed. Belts must be tucked all the way in pant loops. 3.Do not wear any clothing or accessories which indicate gang affiliation.

7 PLEASE LEAVE THESE AT HOME 1.Flip-flops, shower shoes, sandals without a back strap, slippers 2.Pajamas

8 The following Dress/Attire IS NOT ALLOWED: 1.Facial piercing ( Safety Purpose) No spikes No sharp points 2. Ear Piercing No Spikes No Sharp objects

9 Should you choose to not follow the dress code, you will be given a dress code violation which will result in the following consequences:

10 Consequences First Warning – Student will be allowed to change (call parent or borrow clothing from EDHS). While waiting for the change, you will be in ISS. Second Warning - Student will be sent to In School Suspension (ISS). Third Warning – Student will be sent to In School Suspension (ISS) and have community service during Saturday School. Fourth Warning - Student will be sent to In School Suspension (ISS) and serve 2 days of community service during Saturday School. Fifth Warning - Serve Out of school suspension and complete 3 days of community service during Saturday School. 6 th Warning -3 days suspension pending Keys Academy placement.

11 Tardy Policy DEFINITION OF TARDY: A student shall be considered tardy when he or she arrives to class after the tardy bell.

12 First tardy –Verbal Warning Second tardy - Teacher will make parent contact and may impose a consequence Third tardy - Teacher will make parent contact and write a referral; consequence will be Saturday School, lunch detention or community service. Fourth tardy - Teacher will make parent contact and write a second referral; consequence will be two days from the above mentioned consequences. Tardy Policy (per class)

13 Tardy Policy Fifth tardy - Teacher will make parent contact and write a third referral; consequence will be Saturday School and In School Suspension (SAC). Sixth tardy - Teacher will make parent contact and write a fourth referral; consequence will be 2 Saturday School days, In School Suspension (SAC), and off campus lunch may be revoked if tardies are accumulated the class period after lunch. * Tardy records are cleared at the beginning of the spring semester (January 2016).
