Sites and visits in Iceland Northern Lights Tour The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon, often seen dancing around in the fantastic colours across the Arctic sky. Northern Lights can be seen when certain weather conditions are fulfilled, usually during crisp, cold and very still evenings.

5. Sites and visits in Iceland Hallgrimskirkja Cathedral Hallgrímskirkja (Hallgrim's Church) in Reykjavik is the tallest and most striking church in Iceland. A Lutheran cathedral, Hallgrimskirkja is named after an Icelandic poet and clergyman, Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614-74), the author of the Passíusálmar and other works. He was one of the most influential pastors during the Age of Orthodoxy.

6. Sites and visits in Iceland The Blue Lagoon The Blue Lagoon is a unique wonder of nature, with pleasantly warm mineral-rich geothermal water in a middle of a black lava field. The naturally high levels of silica and minerals give the Lagoon its rich blue colour.

Sites and visits in Iceland Golden Circle Tour The Pingvellir National Park is the first stop on this tour from where the forces of tectonic plates are clearly visible, followed by a walk to the Icelandic Parliament established in the year 930. The tour continues to Gullfoss, the most beautiful waterfall in the country as well as the Geysir geothermal area with its hot springs. The most active one Strokkur, erupts every few minutes. The last stop is the Kerio crater before returning to Reykjavik.

During the 2 hour tour you will be walking on the southernmost glacier in Iceland where you will experience pure ice with amazing landscape.

12. Next steps for booking with European Study Tours Provisional Booking - A provisional booking will be held for a maximum of four weeks for coach, rail and Eurostar tours. To confirm this tour, send us your completed firm booking form and deposits of £50 per paying person. Provisional bookings are not possible for air tours, deposits of £80 (European tours) and £100 (worldwide tours) per paying person and a completed firm booking form are required. Firm Booking - Once you have made a firm booking, you will receive a comprehensive Group Leader's Travel Pack, including a Time Out Guide (or similar). We will then begin work on planning your programme of subject specific visits and excursions. Groups can make use of our excellent pre-booking service for museums, subject specific visits, theme parks, meals and other excursions. Final payments - Final payment for your tour will be due ten weeks before departure. At this point we will also ask you for your final details such as your names list. Your final pack - Approximately three weeks prior to departure, we will send your Final Information Pack including your tickets, your finalised itinerary and other essential information.
