Qualifiaction Recognition Service The International Relations Office is responsible for coordinating activities regarding The Recognition of Foreign Qualifications The procedure of Recognition is carried out by the commission which has five members The Vice – Rector for Academic and Student Affairs and the Vice-Rector for Science and Research are permanent members of the Commission. Three member of the commission are established by the Faculty/Academy Council President of the Commission is the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs The International Relations Office has 2 employees: Vice-Rector for International Relations Senior Officer Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

3. Procedure The procedures are carried out at the University level The recognition procedure is established by the Rulebook issued by the Senate of the University of Tuzla and approved by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Tuzla Canton Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education

5. Aplication The procedure is initiated with sending an application by person with interest The right to apply is given to the BH citizens and foreign citizens as well as the stateless persons if they have a legal interest for recognition who have completed the appropriate undergraduate study in duration of four years (with achieved 240 ECTS credits), or who have completed the first cycle of studies for a period of three years (with achieved 180 ECTS) for admission to a two-year master study The recognition can only be done for the purpose of continuing education at the University of Tuzla The process of academic recognition is normally carried out during the time of students‘ Enrollment to the II and III cycle

6. DOCUMENTATION Beside the application, the list of necessary documents are: Original copy of the foreign higher education diploma and 3 certified copies Original copy of the Diploma Supplement or official grade transcript in original (if the first one is not issued) and 2 certified copies Curriculum of the study program A copy of the final thesis (bachelor, master) Diploma on acquired education in BH, if the person had a formal educated in BH before the education abroad Birth certificate Marriage certificate if surname is changed and A proof of payment of administrative fees In addition the applicant shall submit a proof of application to the second or third cycle of studies at the University of Tuzla All the documents must be translated by authorized judicial translator registered in BH In exceptional cases, the Commission can ask for the additional documents if necessary

7. Evaluation criteria The procedures of nostrification, equivalence and professional recognition is carried out by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Tuzla Canton while the procedure of academic recognition is carried out by the University of Tuzla The evaluation criteria are: the system of education in the country of origin, accreditation of HEI and study programme, admission requirements (minimum level and length of previous education, type of qualification of enrollment), study programme details (programme type, duration, number and structure of modules/subjects and ECTS credits), formal right that are given by the foreign qualification in the country of origin and academic achievements of the holder of qualification.

8. While proceeding the application the Commission is taking into consideration the Lisbon Recognition Convention and the recommendation of the Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualification in Higher Education

9. Decision Deadline for the decision is 60 days after the date when all required application documents are submitted The decision is made by the rector The rights of the applicants are protected by the right to appeal against the decision to the Senate of the University within 15 days of receipt of the decision
