2016-06-06 1 / 11 Updates of PANDA 3D Model CM June 2016 at GSI, MEC Session J. Lühning, GSI Updates for: Panda Hall Target Spectrometer Latest version of Panda detector and Panda hall (version 1602, compressed STEP format and 3D-PDF) can be found here: http://web-docs.gsi.de/~luehning/Panda-3D/

2016-06-06 2 / 11 Panda Hall some cable & pipe routing added space for stair towers allocated There is not much space left Lower section of Panda hall (E10) north

2016-06-06 3 / 11 Panda Hall Detectors in beam position compensation solenoid (size not yet fixed) stair tower for access to target platform, upper stair height above floor 6.3 meters concrete gate rack for muon filter (east)

2016-06-06 4 / 11 Panda Hall Target Spectrometer and Forward Detectors in maintenance position cable routes stair tower for access to target platform concrete gate platform for detectors parked upstream man lock to maintenance area

2016-06-06 5 / 11 Panda Hall tentative cabling of Muon Filter (flexible festoon) western half of Muon Filter in open position conductors for dipole, 2 × 55 m, routed along western wall of cave stationary big dipole placement of rack for downstream End Cap FEE ? western half of downstream End Cap in open position Beam area, view from northwest (western downstream side) stationary rack for Muon Filter FEE

2016-06-06 6 / 11 Target Spectrometer Target Spectrometer, view from southwest (western upstream side) gangway around south (upstream) and east section of target platform placement of rack for downstream End Cap FEE ? access to this rack platform only via a steep ladder?

2016-06-06 7 / 11 Target Spectrometer Target Spectrometer, view from northwest (western downstream side) gangway design for west end of target platform ? racks for upper eastern barrel muon detectors

2016-06-06 8 / 11 Target Spectrometer Western half of Target Spectrometer, upstream view (backward End Cap hidden) FEE boxes for barrel EMC (7 in total, volume 7 × 66 dm³) new design of barrel DIRC read-out requires less space for barrel EMC cooling pipes there is little space in the ducts (diameter of thermal insulation might be critical) upstream lines for muon counters (brown colour), 8 ducts, request per duct 138 cm² < A < 425 cm² coolant line (drain) barrel-EMC coolant line (drain) BE-EMC coolant manifold for EMCs

2016-06-06 9 / 11 Target Spectrometer View from southwest a few apertures in the webs of this vertical beam would be very useful for routing screws mounted from front side of door, threaded nuts on barrel side (mounting in opposite direction almost impossible) this sloped part of barrel support frame takes a lot of space which would be valuable for racks and supply lines Some changes which would ease installation and handling

2016-06-06 10 / 11 Next Design Steps Target Spectrometer: Target platform west (pumping area) More cable routing (assignment of racks to detectors needed) Upstream routing of MVD, STT, and BE-EMC (dedicated designer needed for solving this puzzle) Panda Hall: Service platform for MVD, STT, and BE-EMC in maintenance area Installation facilities for cryostat and barrel-EMC

2016-06-06 11 / 11 Please study 3d models and send me objections and caveats. Thank you!
