Let’s Take a Journey to…

Egypt’s Climate There are only two seasons, Summer and Winter (May-Oct.) HOT!!! Summer Range from 7°C at night to 43°C during the day (Nov.-April) Winter is generally very mild. Not much fluctuation like with summer. Ranges from 0°C to 18°C **Egypt receives less than 80mL precipitation per year**

What about the Government? The Republic of Egypt!! There's a president that is elected for a term of 6 years... Followed by a prime minister, whom is designated by the president. And then there is parliament.. They are elected for 5 years

Although there are military and police presence in the country, not much is present outside of resort areas. Matter of fact, police tend to be more of mediators rather than authoritative figures.

It’s all about the Benjamins… 1 Egyptian Pound (EGP) = 0.1399 USD Not quite.15¢…..

How do they get around? Just about the same as you and I… Forms of transportation -Bus/Tram -Cars + motorcycles (most ideal) -Train -Bicycle -Boats/Ferries….

Let’s not forget the not so traditional methods…

Etiquettes One should not kiss or make body contact with an individual of the opposite sex in public The soles of feet or shoes are not to be shown, it is considered very rude

Greetings and Courtesies All greetings must proceed all forms of social interactions Handshakes/embracing is common among members of the same sex but should not be done with members of the opposite sex Addressing someone by their name alone is impolite ( correct way is addressing by given name followed by their title)

Let’s take a look at how it should be done… http://youtu.be/bE7WqnB2xVY

Clothing Women -Always dress modestly, especially when traveling outside of resort/tourist areas. -Skirts have to be at least knee length -Shoulders and the tops of the arms are to be fully covered

Education System Children between the ages of 6 and 15 have access to free education, but just because it’s free, doesn’t mean it’s quality. Education is broken down into 4 categories A. Public a. Local Arabic-Teaches the Egyptian Curriculum b. Experimental- Offers their own curriculum B. Private- Consists of 8% of the children enrolled C. National Institutions – Not privately owned but are related to the national institutions and administrations D. Expat/embassy- Not connected to the Ministry

Healthcare Universal Healthcare System- Governed by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) Nearly everyone in Egypt has access to health care.
