Cezanne Post-impressionist painter
In his art, Cezanne had a strong insistence on personal expression and on the integrity of the painting itself. In 1904, Cezanne said artists should treat nature "in terms of the cylinder, the sphere and the cone." He has been called the father of modern painting.
