Szent-Györgyi was born in Budapest, Hungary, on September 16, 1893. His father, Nicholas von Szent- Györgyi, was a prominent landowner. His mother, Josefine Lenhossek, belonged to a highly educated family.

Mr. Vitamin C In 1932 he noted the anti-scorbutic activity of ascorbic acid and discovered that paprika (capsicum annuum) was a rich source of vitamin C. Szent-Györgyi won the Nobel Prize of Physiology or Medicine in 1937 for discovering the biological functions of vitamin C.

Lajos Kossuth

Family Lajos Kossuth was born in Monok, Hungary in 19 September,1802. His family was a Protestant noble family. His father, László Kossuth belonged to the lower nobility. His mother was Karolina Weber.

After being released in 1840 Kossuth became editor of the Pesti Hirlap. Elected to the Hungarian Diet, Kossuth became the leader of the extreme liberals and after the French Revolution of 1848 demanded an independent government for Hungary.

When Austria and Hungary went to war at the end of 1848 Kossuth became provisional governor of the country. The following year Kossuth declared Hungary's independence with himself as president. Hungary managed to repulse the Austrian Army but the regime collapsed when Russia joined the war.

He died in Turin on 20 March 1894 Lots of people accompanied to him by last journey.
