2 Chocolate

3 The theme of my project is “Chocolate”. I have chosen it because I really like chocolate sweets very much. the aim of my project That’s why the aim of my project is to find out if it is possible to make chocolate sweets at home.

4 - to learn the history of chocolate - to study chocolate benefits - to make chocolate sweets at home - then to taste and to compare the homemade chocolate and the shop- bought chocolate. My project tasks are:

7 There is a perception that Christopher Columbus was the first European to come in contact with cacao. The History Of Chocolate. The beverage from the seeds of the cacao tree appeared about 3000 years ago.

10 Health Benefits. Most of doctors think that chocolate is an extremely useful product, which should be included in the diet. In reasonable amounts it doesn’t lead to obesity. And it contains a lot of glucose, which stimulates our brain. That’s why chocolate is very important for us.

11 How to make chocolate at home? According to one of the recipes, to make 1 kilogram of chocolate we need: -350 grams of dried cacao beans -200 grams of cacao butter -500 grams of powdered sugar -and some nuts or raisins.

12 Firstly we roast beans. We will do it on a pan. After that you can easily clean the beans

13 The next step is to grind the cacao seeds. Then we melt the cacao butter. We can use a cooker or a microwave oven.

14 Then we add the milled cacao beans and powdered sugar to our butter and we start mixing. When the consistence of chocolate is good enough you can add nuts and raisins.

15 After all the chocolate paste is cooled to 29 degrees and poured into the molds. 30 minutes later your chocolate is ready to be eaten.

16 Searching for taste characteristics In order to find out if our homemade chocolate sweets differ from the sweets, which were bought in the shop, we interviewed the pupils. And we created the commission from 18 pupils of the 3 rd form.

17 Besides they really melt in the mouth not in the hands. 14 pupils out of 18 responded that they liked the homemade chocolate more than the chocolate bought in the shop. The pupils tasted and compared the chocolate sweets. These sweets have a harsh scent of chocolate. They are sufficiently sweet to the children’s taste. According to the children the homemade sweets taste better.

18 The Conclusion. It is possible to make chocolate at home. And it also can become a great alternative to the shop-bought chocolate. The comparison of two kinds of chocolate proved my hypothesis. Moreover chocolate is really an amazing product, which combines great taste qualities, as well as great health benefits.
