2 Hello, If you haven’t noticed, I am not here today. I had to start maternity leave early. I had to go on bed rest so I can make sure that Baby Odysseus is healthy. I will probably not return to school until around spring break. I will send word and photos when Baby Odysseus arrives. So have a wonderful time with Mr. Powers. Love, Mrs. Camano

8 1. Create a fiery speech pretending to be Queen Elizabeth or Philip II that inspires your soldiers to win the battle of the Spanish Armada. 2. Investigate the life of France’s “Sun King,” Louis XIV, and create a biographical sketch. 3. Create a timeline that identifies 10 events that weakened and strengthened the French monarchy. Explain why they weakened or strengthened the monarchy. 4. Produce a political pamphlet/cartoon promoting the Royalist or Puritan cause. (50 to 100 word explanation needed) 5. Design the front page of a newspaper that summarizes the ideas from the English Civil War and Glorious Revolution. 6. As a member of Peter the Greats’ court, give a first hand account of the new western changes being made and write an editorial persuading fellow Russians to accept them. Directions: As individuals, choose 1 of the following activities. Grading based on content, accuracy, neatness, etc. Expected 300 words. Indicate word count Due 20 minutes before the end of class. Turn into the tray.
