2  Reasons for using Internet-based project in the classroom.  They are a structured way for teachers to begin to incorporate the Internet into the language classroom. No special technical knowledge is needed.  The use of projects encourages cooperative learning, and therefore stimulates interaction.  They can be used for language learning purposes but can also be interdisciplinary, allowing for cross-over into other departments and subject areas. Provide greater motivation for learner.  They encourage critical thinking skills. *a good example of source – Wikipedia ( www.wikipedia.org )www.wikipedia.org

5 Aim -Develop specific communication skills For the project - three lesson periods - access to the Internet for 2 nd and 3 rd of lessons - word processing software Language areas countries, nationalities, data, places, past tenses, like and dislike and opinions

6 Lessons First Lesson -write down the name of their favorite actor and mind- map what they know about him or her ( mind map 사진 넣 기 ) -make a list of things they don’t know Second Lesson -complete their mind map *Students are simple enough for the level, teacher will need to find useful sites before the lesson. *If students are comfortable with searching and dealing with websites, have them find their own. -provide them with a model biography (rewrite one example to your student’s language level; structures and vocabulary areas) Third Lesson -making the final product * have them prepare a short text based on the model from the previous lesson to work up into a poster(using Microsoft Word) with illustrations and photographs (You can use http:// images.google.com for relevant images)

10 Aim -provide learners with the opportunity of examining a serious issue in depth. -encourage more complex thinking and reasoning processes For the project -three lesson periods of at least 45minutes each. -access to the Internet for the first and second lesson. -optionally, access to video recording equipment for third lesson. Second Lesson -Encourage students to think about how they can enhance the final product with. Ex) the use of props and arrangement of the furniture -prepare their section of the debate *TV debate presenters *Scientists who deny that global warming exists, or that it is potentially dangerous. *Environmentalists who want to inform the public of the dangers *Studio audience: decide individually on your views and then prepare a couple of questions Third Lesson -role-playing a television debate *video camera – for examining the language used in the process and for error correction
