2 Topic Lunar Survival Mission Aims  To use with teaching staff as an example of how to embed STEM in non-stem areas  To introduce subjects in a fun way  Provide in class resources Level Level 1 Method Can be used as an icebreaker or team building exercise at the beginning of the school term. All slides apart from slide 2 and slide 5 (answers) to be printed off and given to the students. 3 Lunar Survival Mission Briefing Sheet You are on a mission to the Moon, to relieve a team of Lunar Scientists of their 6 month research project. As you near the moon your shuttle begins to experience problems. Luckily you and you team make it to the surface of the moon, but crash land, on the lighted side of the moon, 22 miles from the Lunar Research Facility. Most of your equipment is destroyed in the crash leaving only 15 items intact. Considering the following information you must decide which 9 items from the list provided are most essential for your survival as you make your way to the LRF and list them in order of importance. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Average Walking Speed is 4 mph 50lb of Oxygen lasts approx. 3-4.25 hrs During the Day temperatures on the Moon can reach up to 123 C. There are approximately 3.78 litres in a Gallon
