Purpose This lesson explains the three different leadership styles.

The participative leadership style involves the ideas and advice of others. Allowing the group or unit to have a say in the decision making progress is good for morale. This leadership style means that you merely listen to the advice of others.

When using the delegative style of leadership, your decision will concern assigning a specific task to a specific individual. It is your responsibility, when assigning a task or delegating authority, to see that the assignment is of a nature that will allow success.
