Outcome trials of PCSK9 inhibitors, which reduce LDL-C with no anti-inflammatory effects, are ongoing (middle), as are trials of the anti-inflammatory agents methotrexate and canakinumab, which reduce hsCRP, but have no effect on LDL-C (bottom).
