Medical requirements: Medical requirements:  For an applicant for a CPL(A): An applicant for a CPL(A) shall hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.  For a holder of a CPL(A): In order to exercise the privileges of a CPL(A) a valid Class 1 medical certificate shall be held. Credits: Credits: In case of a PPL(A) entrant, 50% of the hours flown by the entrant prior to the course may be credited towards the required flight instruction up to a credit of 40 hours flying experience or 45 hours if the night flying qualification has been obtained, of which up to 20 hours may be dual instruction.

Credits: Credits: From the 200 hours of flight time the following can be credited:  30 hours as PIC holding a PPL(H); or  100 hours as PIC holding a CPL(H); or  30 hours as PIC in TMG or gliders:

Approved CPL/IR integrated theoretical knowledge course: Approved CPL/IR integrated theoretical knowledge course: An approved CPL/IR integrated theoretical knowledge course shall comprise at least 500 hours of instruction including classroom work, interactive video, slide/tape presentation, learning carrels, CBT and other media approved by the Authority.

Minimum experience: Minimum experience: Within the total of 180 hours, the applicant shall complete at least:  80 hours dual instruction, of which up to 40 hours instrument ground time;  100 hours PIC, including 50 hours VFR flight and 50 hours IFR flight as SPIC;

Flight Instruction Syllabus: Flight Instruction Syllabus: The CPL/IR flight instruction syllabus is detailed in AMC FCL 1.160 and AMC FCL 1.165(a)(2).

Minimum experience: Minimum experience: Within the total of 150 hours, the applicant shall complete at least:  80 hours dual instruction, of which 5 hours instrument ground time;  70 hours PIC;

Applicants with a valid IR(A) shall be given at least 15 hours dual visual flight instruction. Applicants without a night flying qualification shall be given at least 5 hours night flight instruction.

Skill test: Skill test: On completion of the related flight training, the applicant shall take the CPL(A) skill test on either a single-engine or a multi-engine aeroplane in accordance to the JAR- FCL and, if appropriate, the instrument rating test on a multi- engine aeroplane.

17 Phare Project Europe Aid/115886/D/SV/EE “Training for licensing of aviation personnel in Estonia” First Training Session September 6th-10th 2004, Tallinn Aero Development Bureau – ADB Ben Air Flight Academy – BAFA Brussels, Belgium Antwerp, Belgium Commercial Pilot Licence – CPL (A) Privileges and conditions Privileges: Privileges: Subject to any other conditions specified in the JARs, the priviliges of the holder of a CPL(A) are: to exercise all the privileges of the holder of a PPL(A); to exercise all the privileges of the holder of a PPL(A); to act as PIC or co-pilot of any aeroplane engaged in operations other than commercial air tranportation; to act as PIC or co-pilot of any aeroplane engaged in operations other than commercial air tranportation; to act as PIC in commercial air transport of single- pilot aeroplanes; to act as PIC in commercial air transport of single- pilot aeroplanes; to act as a co-pilot in commercial air transportation. to act as a co-pilot in commercial air transportation.

20 Phare Project Europe Aid/115886/D/SV/EE “Training for licensing of aviation personnel in Estonia” First Training Session September 6th-10th 2004, Tallinn Aero Development Bureau – ADB Ben Air Flight Academy – BAFA Brussels, Belgium Antwerp, Belgium Air Transport Pilot Licence – ATPL(A) Experience and crediting flight time: Experience and crediting flight time:  General experience: An applicant for an ATPL(A) shall have completed at least 1500 hours as pilot of aeroplanes.  Specific experience requirements: Those 1500 hours flight time shall be divided as following: 500 hours in multi-pilot aeroplanes (MPA); 500 hours in multi-pilot aeroplanes (MPA); 250 hours as PIC or at least 100 hours as PIC and 150 hours as co-pilot perfornming, under supervision of the PIC the duties and functions of a PIC, provided that the method of supervision is acceptable to the Authority. 250 hours as PIC or at least 100 hours as PIC and 150 hours as co-pilot perfornming, under supervision of the PIC the duties and functions of a PIC, provided that the method of supervision is acceptable to the Authority.

Holders of a flight engineer licence: Holders of a flight engineer licence: Will be credited with 50% of the flight engineer time up to a maximum of 250 hours. The 250 hours may be credited against the 1500 hours requirement and the 500 hours in MPA, provided that the total credit given does not exceed 250 hours.

Modular course: Modular course:  General: An applicant, who has not received the theoretical instruction during an integrated course, shall undertake an ATPL(A) modular course;

24 Phare Project Europe Aid/115886/D/SV/EE “Training for licensing of aviation personnel in Estonia” First Training Session September 6th-10th 2004, Tallinn Aero Development Bureau – ADB Ben Air Flight Academy – BAFA Brussels, Belgium Antwerp, Belgium Air Transport Pilot Licence – ATPL(A)  Requirements: An applicant for an ATPL(A) modular course shall be holder of a PPL(A).  Minimum hours: The applicant for an ATPL(A) modular course shall be required to complete 650 hours of instruction for ATPL theory within a period of 18 months.  Reduction of hours: -Holders of a CPL(A)/IR(A) can reduced theory by 350 hours; -Holders of a CPL(A) can reduced theory by 200 hours; -Holders of an IR(A) can reduce theory by 200 hours.

Theoretical knowledge examination: Theoretical knowledge examination: An applicant shall demonstrate a level of knowledge appropriate to the privileges of the holder of an ATPL(A). Skill test: Skill test: An applicant shall have demonstrated the ability to perform, as PIC of an aeroplane certified for minimum crew of two pilots under IFR the procedures and manoeuvres described in the JAR-FCL.
