1. Sermon THE ARMOR OF GOD- THE BELT OF TRUTH Eph 6:10-17 Introduction

2. Christ our great champion has won the final battle for us; he is the ultimate victor and we share in that, YET we are commanded to put on armor and make our stand.

3. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

4. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

5. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

6. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:10-17 ESV)

8. DON’T BE RULED BY FEAR BE STRONG IN THE LORD 2PE 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

9. EPH 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…

10. RO 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

11. When the Holy Spirit, ministering through His Word applies the gospel to our hearts, then we are given dynamite power to stand against the schemes of the devil.

12. The Crucified, Risen, and Ascended Christ is ON THE THRONE.

13. Put on…/ take up.. The Whole armor … of God … THE BELT OF TRUTH

14. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

15. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:1-3 ESV “Sanctify them in thy truth; Thy Word is truth.” John 17:17

16. The Belt of Truth creates a God centered confidence, and a God centered humility.

17. PUTTING ON THE A-R-M-O-R A – AVOID, as much as is possible and reasonable, the sights and situations that arouse unfitting desires "Avoiding" is a Biblical strategy. R – Resist "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" ( James 4:7)

18. M – MOVE the mind forcefully toward Christ as a superior satisfaction. O – OBEY through faith – Romans 1:5 R – Rejoice in the Lord
