9 Simon TschannettICAM2003 Brig 19.-23.05.20039/10 University of Vienna Department of Meteorology and Geophysics Conclusions Independent cross-sections without model or first guess field Position changes due to wind shift of radiosondes are vital!  Totally different stability parameters  Striking difference in the cross-sections  Wind shifts must not be neglected on the meso scale, this may also apply for model input  Not only 2D cross-sections, but 3D or 4D analyses for foehn studies  Operational distribution of x, y, z, t coordinates of radiosonde data is necessary!
