ALL Committee Goals & Chairperson Duties 1.Review over the duties of expected of the committee with your group 2.Lead and delegate tasks. 3.Email delegated tasks to Mrs. Davis at kdavis04@bluevalleyk12.orgkdavis04@bluevalleyk12.org 4.Create a presentation to share your researched information, in which your decisions for your wedding plans where based, with the class.  Must be creative- think you will be pitching your wedding contribution and explaining how/why you made your choices- your job is to sell your idea to the rest of the group/happy couple.  Each group member MUST contribute VOCALLY to the presentation. 5.Coordinate entries/sources for the required Works Cited Page  One source MUST be from a library database  Include all group members’ names in the MLA heading 1.Wedding Project Website http://ctweed.wix.com/rjwedding

Guest List Tasks  As a group, design an invitation to the wedding of Romeo and Juliet.  Make sure that the time period, tone, and theme of the party are correctly portrayed in the invitation.  Assign each classmate a role of a significant person from the Elizabethan Era (these people may be fictional--as in a character from the play, or real).  Along with this assignment, you must make neat, creative nametags for each classmate to wear during the reception.  Design a seating chart using the above characters.  Make sure to be aware of who you are seating next to each other. We certainly wouldn't want a laborer sitting next to the queen, or would we?  As a culmination to your research, your group will need to provide a Works Cited page with at least 5 resources, 1 of which needs to be a library database. Therefore, be sure to keep track of the location of your information! BONUS: Live the role. Dress up as the characters you have assigned yourself.

Fashion Tasks  As a group, design a fashion "Look Book" for Elizabethan fashion. (many mediums optional)  Keep in mind that there were differing styles of fashion during this time period. Be sure to incorporate all styles in your "Look Book."  Your "Look Book" should also include fashion for men  Not only should you be covering both men's and women's fashion, but you should also cover both formal and informal clothing as well.  Your final product should be colorful and include images of differing fashions.  As a culmination to your research, your group will need to provide a Works Cited page with at least 5 resources, 1 of which needs to be a library database. Therefore, make sure you are keeping track of the location of your information! BONUS: Hit up the theater department and/or a costume shop and bring in examples of Elizabethan fashion to show the class.

Food Tasks  As a group, construct a cookbook of recipes from the Elizabethan Era.  Your cookbook must contain at least 10 recipes and should cover all parts of a meal (appetizers, main dishes, desserts, etc.)  As a group, come up with a menu for a reception for Romeo and Juliet's wedding.  Design a formal, printed menu to be put on display. Again, make sure the menu covers all aspects of a meal.  As a culmination to your research, your group will need to provide a Works Cited page with at least 5 resources, 1 of which needs to be a library database. Therefore, be sure to keep track of the location of your information! BONUS: Test out your cooking skills and prepare ONE of the recipes either in your cookbook or on your menu for the class (this is not an opportunity for you to bring in tons of food. I am pretty sure that they did not have Cheetos, Doritos, or anything sold in a vending machine during while Queen Elizabeth I was living.)

Dance Tasks  As a group, research different types of dance that were popular during the Elizabethan Era.  Find video examples of each dance to show the class. OR choose one of the dances you have researched, practice it, and perform it for the class.  You may either perform it live, or record it as a video to show the class.  As a culmination to your research, your group will need to provide a Works Cited page with at least 5 resources, 1 of which needs to be a library database. Therefore, be sure to keep track of the location of your information! BONUS: Teach the class one of the popular dances of the time.

Music Tasks  As a group, construct a playlist of songs that might be played during the time period.  Along with the playlist, provide a one page, typed paper explaining the setting in which each song might have been used. Provide a CD or YouTube Link with a cover with songs to be played in class. (I should be able to push play and just have it go)  Construct a playlist of modern songs that would make sense for the couple/story.  Provide a justification for each song chosen.  As a culmination to your research, your group will need to provide a Works Cited page with at least 5 resources, 1 of which needs to be a library database.  (research on music, how it would be played, instruments, etc.)  Therefore, be sure to keep track of the location of your information! BONUS: Each group member will turn one of the modern songs on the list into a sonnet (see examples on School Center)

History Tasks  Researching the Elizabethan Era, create a national newspaper reporting on historical events from all over the country.  Your newspaper should include a cover page for each of the following sections:  National news  Sports and Entertainment  Business  Topics you might consider for your paper/research:  Shakespeare  Tudors  Renaissance  Religion  Government/military happening  As a culmination to your project, your group will need to provide a Works Cited page with at least 5 resources, 1 of which needs to be a library database. Therefore, make sure you are keeping track of the location of your information! BONUS!: Create an editorial cartoon that comments on some aspect of Elizabethan cultre and include it in your newspaper.
