What is an appeal? Team championships (conference leagues sports) –Contravention of regulations General regulations Sports specific regulations –Behaviour of institutions Tournament based championships –Sports specific –Neutral committee

What do I do? Dispute Before or during fixtureAfter match Play under protest Do not play or abandon game SPEAK TO OPPOSITION TO TRY AND RESOLVE Submit appeal to BUSA Office Rearrange fixture – agree in writing at the time Walkover Result stands OR

The appeals process Submission of initial appeal –To be made by 2pm on working day following fixture Response to appeal from opposition –Usually required within 24 hours Decision made by BUSA Office –Facts and previous cases considered

What next? Disciplinary hearing –£50 –Chair (Life Vice President) & 2 students Executive Board hearing –£200 –Chair (Officer), 3 students, Chair of Standing Committee Sport Disputes Resolution Panel
