1 1 How to Publish Your HTML Page on the Web

2 Every USF Student has a website http://turnerr.myweb.usf.edu/ 2 Your Net ID You have a directory on the server with your Net ID as its name. There should be a subdirectory with the name public_html. Any text files that you put into this directory will be visible on the Internet. If public_html does not exist, you can create it.

3 How to Publish Your Page on the Web In order to copy a file to the server you will need a Secure FTP client program. Recommended: WinSCP You can download WinSCP from http://winscp.net/eng/download.php 3

6 Top Level Directory 6 If directory public_html does not exist, you must create it. You can do this in WinSCP.

9 public_html now exists 9 The WinSCP window works like a normal Windows Explorer window. Double click on public_html to drill down.

11 Copying Files into public_html 11 You can drag and drop files to and from the WinSCP window as if it were a normal Windows Explorer folder window on your PC.

12 Files in the Directory 12 hello.html will now be available on the Internet as turnerr.myweb.usf.edu/hello.html
