2 Hydraulic System & Types
A hydraulic drive system is a drive or transmission system that uses pressurized hydraulic fluid to power hydraulic machinery. The term hydrostatic refers to the transfer of energy from flow and pressure, not from the kinetic energy of the flow. A hydraulic drive system consists of three parts:- The generator (e.g. a hydraulic pump), driven by an electric motor, a combustion engine. Valves (to guide and control the system). Actuator (e.g. a hydraulic motor or hydraulic cylinder) to drive the machinery. 01/09/2016

3 Hydraulic Tank Specification
A reservoir holding adequate quantity of Hydraulic Oil, energy transfers fluid, which has been mounted with suitable mounting arrangement. Here I am considering a 800Ltrs Tank for example:- Tank Capacity : 800 Ltrs Return Line Filter : CFR – 630 Suction Strainer : SC3 150 Recommended Hyd. 4 Cylinders Hydraulic cylinders (also called linear hydraulic motors) are mechanical actuators that are used to give a linear force through a linear stroke. Hydraulic cylinders are able to give pushing and pulling forces of many metric tons with only a simple hydraulic system. Very simple hydraulic cylinders are used in presses; here, the cylinder consists of a volume in a piece of iron with a plunger pushed in it and sealed with a cover. By pumping hydraulic fluid in the volume, the plunger is pushed out with a force of plunger- area pressure. More sophisticated cylinders have a body with end cover, a piston rod, and a Cap End & Rod End. 01/09/2016

A mud pump is a reciprocating piston/plunger device designed to circulate drilling fluid under high pressure , down the drill string. Mud pump is a large reciprocating pump used to circulate the mud (drilling fluid) on a drilling rig. Here I am considering a 4.5’’ x 5’’ Mud pump for example:- Bore (Liner) : 115 mm ( 4.5 “) Stroke : 125 mm ( 5 “) Max. Rated flow : 500 Lpm Max. 11 FDP A fixed-displacement pump has a set flow rate — every stroke of the motor moves the same amount of fluid. Fixed-displacement pumps are Simple Relatively inexpensive Easier to maintain The simplest type of fixed-displacement pump is the gear pump, in which the hydraulic fluid is pushed by rotating gears. In some models, the gears are sequential; in the quieter and more efficient version, the gears are interlocking. Another common variation is the screw pump, which uses the classic Archimedes screw, which looks much like a drill bit, to move the fluid. They have the advantage of providing a high rate of flow at relatively low pressures. 01/09/2016

This results in pumps that are More complex More expensive Capable of doing a wider variety of jobs The most common type of variable-displacement pump is the rotary vane pump, which is a variation of the gear pump in which the ‘gear’ is offset and the ‘cogs’ aren’t fixed, but rather extend and retract as the gear turns, allowing the pump to increase the pressure of the fluid by compacting it as it pushes the fluid through. 01/09/2016
