8 Taking Care of No.1 - ‘A part of the team, not apart from the team’ Warm Up: Important social interaction with team mates. Technique work including footwork, ball familiarisation. Specific GK technique work: Involving other GKs and working with GK coach. Shooting Excercises: Game related. Involve team play. Game play/SSG’s: Familiarisation into team play. Emphasising the GK’s role is not just to stop shots. GK has a constant role in matches. Tactical awareness, positioning, communication, organisation, support play, distribution/possession. Where can we integrate goalkeepers into our team sessions ?
