2 2016 Annual Redrock Conference Record Connect Report Success 25 Years of Success Strategies for Your Campus What is SurveyTrac? – The SurveyTrac module enables surveys to be created and delivered manually or automatically to the users through the Trac 4.0 application. These surveys can appear when a student logs in/logs out, when a student books an appointment, on the student record, or emailed to students to be taken on their own time. – Surveys are completely customizable, and users can design the types of questions; for example, multiple choice, text fields, dropdown menus, essay, etc...

4 2016 Annual Redrock Conference Record Connect Report Success 25 Years of Success Strategies for Your Campus System Setting There are general system-wide preferences and generally you’ll decide how you want these set once then not touch them after that. – SURVEYHOST - is the hostname/DNS/URL used to access your server (i.e. trac.college.edu or 192.168.0.110:88). This is used to build the survey link for SurveyTrac. – SURVEYPATH - is the path to the SurveyTrac directory on the server (/survey/) – SURVEYPROT - is the protocol used to access your server (http:// or https://)

6 2016 Annual Redrock Conference Record Connect Report Success 25 Years of Success Strategies for Your Campus Creating Surveys - Initiated via: -Display During Appointment Creation -Display During Visit Entry -Email after Visit -Email after 1st Visit during this survey period -Email after New student record -Show at Entry -Show at Entry before 1st Visit during this survey period -Show at Exit -Show at Exit after 1st Visit during this survey period -Display as link on Main Menu -Do not Auto Send -Link on Edit Student -Link on Edit Visit -Display on Document Posting When creating a new survey you want to think about where you want it to appear like on the log out window, when students book an appointment or should the survey be emailed to the students.

12 2016 Annual Redrock Conference Record Connect Report Success 25 Years of Success Strategies for Your Campus Creating Surveys – Question Types: The your creating your questions the may be typed directly into the field or formatted with HTML codes. Add color, size, and styles to your questions. Type  Checkbox – Provides a checkbox for the question. Check for a positive answer.  Pulldown – Provides a list of answers available in a pulldown menu.  Radio Choices – Provides a list of choices with buttons to select an answer.  Fill in – Allows a single line for an 80 character typed response.  Essay – Allows a text box for a full text response.  Multi-check – Allows the user to select multiple answers to a question.
