4 UWE LTFS What will I be expected to do as a Fellow/Associate Fellow? Fellows and Associate Fellows are expected: to demonstrate and develop their excellence in learning support and/or teaching and to be involved in dissemination and network activities. take a leadership role in promoting excellent practice and influencing the practice of colleagues.

5 UWE LTFS Being a UWE LT Fellow/Associate Fellow includes: Actively participating in a community of Learning and Teaching Fellows and Associate Fellows for networking, support and dissemination activities Developing and maintaining a Fellow/Associate Fellow’s portfolio and public profile Engaging with formal and informal peer review Supporting institutional staff development, dissemination and coaching activities

7 UWE LTFS Applying to UWE LTFS: Application form CV Supporting statement from line manager and AD for L&T An applicant to UWE LTFS must demonstrate evidence of: Excellence in the promotion and enhancement of the student learning experience Excellence in the promotion and enhancement of the student learning experience Raising the profile of excellence Raising the profile of excellence: evidence of supporting/leading colleagues and influencing support for student learning in/beyond the institution through demonstrating impact and engagement beyond his/ her immediate academic or professional role

8 UWE LTFS Claim for Fellowship : criterion 1 excellence Evidence of the applicant’s excellence in the promotion and enhancement of the student experience For a Fellow evidence would normally support claims for the following: 1.a commitment to the scholarship of both subject knowledge and learning and teaching 2.the ability to arouse curiosity and to inspire learners to be reflective, critical and independent learners 3.the recognition of a diversity of learner needs 4.the imaginative use of resources 5.innovation in the development of practice 6.a reflective, evaluative approach to the support of learning leadership 7.takes a leadership role in promoting good practice and influencing the practice of colleagues

9 UWE LTFS Claim for Fellowship : criterion 2 Raising the profile of excellence: evidence of supporting colleagues and influencing support for student learning in (and, if appropriate, beyond) the institution, through demonstrating impact and engagement beyond his/her immediate academic or professional role For a Fellow evidence for, and of, the prospective contributions that the applicant intends to make through: 1.a commitment to ongoing reflection, evaluation and professional development with regard to the enhancement of individual and/or collective practice 2.engagement in professional development activities 3.contribution to improvements in the student learning experience leadership and example 4.sharing and promoting good practice to influence the practice of colleagues through leadership and example
