A DULT S LEEPING A RRANGEMENTS A girl alone with an adult should be in view of another adult. All adults are discouraged from sleeping in a tent or cabin with girls. Girls need an opportunity for some privacy and independence. There may be occasions when girls need an adult with them (e.g., disability, violent weather). In the event an adult sleeps in a tent or cabin with girls there must be two deep leadership including two female adults. This may also require additional adults to accompany the troop/ group to camp.

Sprinkle hot coals with water until they are completely out (cool to the touch of the hand). Leave all ashes in the center of the fire circle. Replenish area around fire site with leaves and pine straw avoiding the area directly over the fire site where appropriate. Check with the ranger/reserve ranger at each camp to obtain any deviations to this practice.

H AVE F UN !! T IPS FOR P OSITIVE G IRL B EHAVIOR Keep in mind that the troop belongs to the girls. The girls must feel "in charge" so that they develop ownership of the troop. Girls should know what to do and where to go, so have a meeting prior to Camp Camelot. Be positive. Girls will reflect your attitude. If you are negative, you can count on them to be negative, also.
31
H AVE FUN!! Listen to the girls. It will give you ideas, insight, help you to know and understand them better, and create a caring atmosphere. It also gives you some warning before problems occur. Be flexible. Be loving and understanding, but firm and consistent. Stress the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
