OUTLINE Motivation behind the project. Introduction Problem Statement Assumptions Proposal of a Solution 2

MOTIVATION Harnessing solar power is something I enjoy doing to everyday devices. I have always wanted to take a stereo to the beach and not worry about batteries. Having the stereo built into a cooler so that you can keep your drinks cold at the same time. Enjoying the outdoors. 3

INTRODUCTION I have built several charging devices with solar panels in the past. I thought this year I would build this device so that on long trips to the lake or even just out back grilling out we can listen to good tunes and keep refreshed. 4

PROBLEM STATEMENT I have seen many devices like this one online but they all cost 200$ or more. I aimed to build this one for between 50-100$. And without the need for losing the functionality of the cooler, which most online devices do. 5

ASSUMPTIONS The consumer is wanting to cut cords but still have the indoor luxuries. There will be sunlight in the area they are. The consumer will want a cold beverage and no worry about their devices getting wet. 6

CONCLUSIONS I built with faceplate amplifier first, put too much current through it and blew it. Then rebuilt with the new smaller amplifier and got everything working. Total price of supplies in final project: 50$ Total cost including all lost supplies:75-100$ 15

FUTURE WORK For future work I would like to add an USB 5 volt charger so your phone can charge with the solar panel as well. Possible add higher power solar panels so more things can charge at once. Add Bluetooth to the amplifier so no AUX is needed. 16
