2. The Auto Sash is an environmentally friendly, energy and cost saving control system that has been designed to automatically lower a Fume Cupboard sash door when unoccupied for a period of time.

3. A Fume Cupboard is most energy efficient and safe to the laboratory staff at its minimum Sash Door height. This is because the fan motor speed is decreased, decreasing power consumption and also lowering the airflow demands required from the laboratory’s air conditioning system, thus saving energy and running costs across both systems.

4. The Auto Sash AS01-1, Designed only to lower the sash door when unoccupied for a period of time. The Auto Sash AS01-2, Designed to lower the sash door when unoccupied for a period of time. This model has a manual override control panel that allows the operator to control the sash door position by the use of up and down push buttons. (Available only to compatible cupboards) All models of the Auto Sash are driven by 2 motors which work together in sequence and can be individually adjusted to suit application Auto Sash Models

5. The Auto Sash can be customised to your requirements Common requirements are to Increase or Decrease the unoccupied time out. Default is 2 Minutes. Other requirements may be to have the sash door raise up to a safe working height when the fume cupboards occupier returns with full hands. Auto Sash Option

6. The Operational Sequence for Auto Sash AS01-1 is as follows. If the Fume Cupboard is occupied by the operator The PIR motion sensor detects the fume cupboard is occupied and will not automatically lower the sash door. If the Fume Cupboard is not occupied for more than 2 minutes The PIR motion sensor detects the fume cupboard is not occupied for a duration of 2 minutes and will automatically lower the sash door. The controller will start commencing this sequence by sounding 3 long beeps then proceeding to lower If the Fume Cupboard is interrupted by the operator during the automatic lowering of the sash door The PIR motion sensor detects the fume cupboard is again occupied and will stop the automatic lowering of the sash door. The controller will sound 2 short beeps. If during the automatic lowering of the Fume Cupboard sash door fails to reach the minimum sash height because of obstruction or jamming. In this event the controller will sound 2 Long beeps. And the sash door will stop in the obstructed position. The obstruction must be removed and the sash door manually lowered to minimum sash height to acknowledge that the obstruction has been removed. Normal sequence will then resume. 7. PIR Motion Sensor The PIR motion sensor is neatly mounted in the centre of the cupboard. The sensitivity can be adjusted to accommodate surrounding interference
