1 Consider a Language Minor You are already on your way!

2  Another language enables you to work, live and travel in another country.  Many career choices are only open to you if you have another language.  For many graduate programs, a second language is required. 3  The study of languages unlocks new worlds of literature and culture.  Learning a language sparks your creativity! Finish what you started! A minor in a language complements any major and will stand out on your transcript. It will make you competitive internationally, since students outside of North America usually have more than one language.

4 Minors are available in: German Studies Hispanic Studies Italian Indigenous Studies Spanish and Latin American Studies World Language Studies Linguistics  Find detailed descriptions for all Plans on the LLCU website under “Academics.”

5 Minor in Italian Studies Consists of 30.0 units “Minoring in Italian complements my major well because both give insight to their respective cultures, and show how people communicate.” Jenna Polla, English and Italian

6 In year one you take:  ITLN P10/3.0 Beginning Italian I and  ITLN 112/3.0 Beginning Italian II In year two you take:  ITLN 204/3.0 Italiano intermedio and  ITLN 205/3.0 Italiano avanzato

7 In year three and year four you take SIX courses (18.0 units) in ITLN option courses LLCU offers many option courses, i.e.:  ITLN courses, at 300 and higher level  LLCU 200/3.0: Semiotics: Interpreting the World  LLCU 201/3.0: Romance Philology  LLCU 214/3.0: Mafia Culture  LLCU 320/3.0 Fascism in Europe from Napoleon to Hitler

8 Option courses from other Departments include courses in Art History, Classical Studies, Film, History, and Music. Some of them are:  ARTH 214/3.0. Renaissance Art and Architecture before 1500  CLST 201/3.0: Roman History  HIST 255/3.0 Renaissance and Reformation in Europe
