1 Teacher Guide This lesson is designed to teach kids to ask a critical thinking question that you can’t just put into a search box to solve. To do that, we encourage them with smaller questions that search can help them answer. Make sure that you read the notes for each slide: they not only give you teaching tips but also provide answers and hints so you can help the kids if they are having trouble. Remember, you can always send feedback to the Bing in the Classroom team at BingInTheClassroom@Microsoft.com. You can learn more about the program at bing.com/classroom and follow the daily lessons on our Partners In Learning site. 3 There’s an annual fireworks show here on the icebergs of Jökulsárlón, a glacial lake in the southeastern portion of Iceland. But appropriate as it seems for a New Year’s Eve celebration, the fireworks show happens here in August. The lake sits on the south edge of Vatnajökull National Park, and though the park is open during the cold winter months, there’s no indication that anybody will be lighting off fireworks at Jökulsárlón tonight. Temperatures can reach as low as - 22 degrees Fahrenheit. A five hour drive west to Iceland’s capital Reykjavík will net you a fantastic display of pyrotechnic mayhem, though. The largest city in Iceland has a law that permits anyone to buy and use fireworks on New Year’s Eve, an allowance that is enthusiastically embraced by many. Main Critical Thinking Question
