2 + What are symbols and landmarks? Symbols are something that stands for something else Landmarks are an object or a feature of a landscape or town American Symbols and Landmarks

3 + American Flag There are 50 stars on the American Flag that represents the 50 states and 13 stars that represent the first 13 colonies. Colors: Red- valor White- liberty and purity Blue- justice and loyalty Fun fact: there have been 27 official versions of the American flag.

4 + White House Located in Washington, D.C. Work on the White House began in 1792 Americas first President George Washington oversaw construction of the house but never lived there. John Adams was the first president to live in the White House. There is 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, and 6 levels President Theodore Roosevelt officially named it White House in 1901.

5 + Bald Eagle United States national bird Bald Eagle’s can live up to 20 years old in the wild On the Great Seal of the United States

6 + Liberty Bell The bell is a symbol of America’s independence. The first Liberty Bell cracked when it was first rang. Located in Philadelphia The bell weighs about 2080 pounds.
