3 The aim is To evaluate the role of the neighbourhood sport coach and the effect thereof on:  The connection between care, sport and physical activity professionals  Activities and lifestyle interventions implemented in the neighbourhood  Participation of residents  Physical activity, perceived health, and health of residents And what are the perceived societal benefits?

4 Study design  Multiple case study: 10 neighbourhoods in 7 Dutch municipalities  Action research and process evaluation: interviews and focus groups  Pre-test/post-test to measure effect on BMI and fitness of residents

5 Study design 1.What is the role of the neighbourhood sport coaches in: ● Collaboration of professionals (care, sport, municipality, welfare) ● Interviews and focus groups ● Network analysis, HALL framework, Coordinated Action Checklist ● Preconditions (policy, practice) ● Interviews with experts and organizations, and a document analysis of policy reports ● Perceived social benefits ● Effect arena

Lifestyle interventions ● The reach of the lifestyle interventions ● Characteristics and target groups ● Monitoring of the interventions ● Preconditions for participation and self management of residents ● Health benefits ● BMI and fitness of residents ● Quality of life, level of physical activity

7 Anticipated results  Empirical evidence on the role of coaches in connecting care, sport and physical activity and the health of residents  Methods to facilitate, improve and evaluate lifestyle interventions  A toolbox for neighbourhood sport coaches to connect care, sport and physical activity  National database with data on the fitness of the residents  National database with process outcomes and results of the work of neighbourhood sport coaches
