Discussion Topic # 1 What do you think would help health care providers struggle less with speaking to patients about the realities of their health and the potential outcomes of treatment?

Discussion Topic # 2 How well do you think adult children understand what their parents "really want" during their older years? How might we address this situation better to improve communication between family members around the issues they face and the decisions that need to be addressed?

Discussion Topic # 3 The film offers evidence that if people have end of life discussions with their family members, they suffer less at the end of life. However, if we consider cultural differences in end of life decision-making, what impact do you think "directing one's health / death care" may have on individuals that come from interdependent cultural groups? (Interdependent cultural groups represent people from most of the non-Western world, and are defined by family collectivism).

Additional questions or topics for discussion?

Thank you for your participation!
