5 Traineeships: Programme aim with programme type Work placement entity; one or more records, connected to learning aim for the work placement. It will contain: Employer identifier Start and end date of placement Mode of placement (internal/external) Supported Internships Also use same entity structure to identify employer for supported internships Changes

6 Other Changes: Identify learners participating in Skills Funding Agency funded learning as part of DWP Work Programme – use a Learning Delivery FAM code Enforce collection of Given name and Family name for learners with a ULN – affects only community learning Increase length of Provider specified fields from 12 to 20 characters New field in Learning Delivery entity to pilot use of a unique aim identifier with volunteer MIS suppliers Changes

7 Maths and English GCSE –Identify EFA funded learners’ achievement of Maths GCSE and English GCSE by end of year 11 and in any subsequent year –New FAM types (MGA and EGA) for Maths and English GCSE attainment at grade A* to C –Six codes –Maths by year 11, maths in subsequent year, no maths –English by year 11, English in subsequent year, no English Changes

8 Identify 14-16 learners eligible for free meals and pupil premium funding: Two new FAM types (FME/PPE): –Eligible for free meals in this funding year (FME1) –Eligible for Service Child premium in this funding year (PPE1) –Eligible for Adopted from Care premium in this funding year (PPE2) Changes

9 HE Changes All have been through HESA governance and consultation process New field in learning delivery HE entity to record not eligible for HEFCE funding because learner is studying equivalent or lower qualification (ELQ) Change to way students exempt from HEFCE cap on full-time undergraduates are identified. HE Monitoring Code – use same code each year with reference to criteria for that year Collect type and amount of financial support received by HE students. 10 Data Board Approved Changes (1) Board met for first time 11 December 2013 and approved five additional changes. Identify and differentiate between internal and external work placements for 16-19 year olds (DfE) New field in Work placement entity (mentioned earlier) Collect subcontractor’s UKPRN for EFA funded learning (EFA) Use existing field Collected prior to 2013/14 Changes

13 Learner Life Outcome (1) board sub-group asked that life outcome is collected for all learners we held a consultation meeting on 17 January 2014 Further Changes

14 Learner Life Outcome (2) providers indicated that a focussed collection of life outcome data, informed by guidance about how the data will be used, in order to inform appropriate collection, would result in more complete and reliable data than a request to return life outcome data for all learners Further Changes

18 Online delivery (2) Field name:Proportion of online learning Definition:The proportion of the curriculum design (scheme of work) delivered by computer mediated activity rather than by a lecturer It is online delivery which replaces face to face lecturing time and not time spent on researching information on the web. 20 Online delivery (4) Feedback from consultation: the definition is clear colleges do not collect this data for their own purposes it would be possible to collect accurate data, but onerous if the data is not used for funding, it would be much easier to provide plausible but fictitious data Further Changes

23 2014/15 data The information authority board was abolished in November 2013 New data governance arrangements are in place for the FE sector More employer focused initiatives, such as Trailblazers
